Walls and ceilings
Drywall seams are finished with joint compound, and MDH lists it along with plaster and ceiling texture. We sample every layer in the area your electrician, plumber or framer will open.
Typical cost in Plymouth
Before your builder opens walls or a wrecking crew arrives, the asbestos has to go. That is state law for every structure in Minnesota, houses included. We sample the drywall, joint compound, ceiling texture, siding and roofing in the work zone, remove what tests positive and hand you the paperwork.
We work for homeowners, builders and property managers across Plymouth, New Hope and Wayzata, on anything from one opened wall to a full tear-down.

Pick your wrecking date and we count backward from it. MPCA wants asbestos gone two days or more ahead of the intended demolition date.
An apartment or condo building with five units or more falls under MPCA, whose notice has to be in ten working days ahead. Our calendar for those jobs starts with that gap.
Small houses are not always exempt. MPCA’s notice applies to a house of four or fewer units that was converted from another use, to any of several houses being demolished by the same owner, and to a teardown that is part of urban renewal, a highway or a commercial development. If one of those describes your project, we plan for the notice from the start.
There is no age cutoff for commercial space. Whatever year a commercial or public building went up, it is inspected before renovation or demolition.
Plymouth won’t let demolition begin until utility disconnects are verified. Its checklist leaves it to the contractor to notify other agencies and request their inspections, asbestos abatement reporting included.
Hennepin County’s pre-demolition inspector will want copies of the asbestos survey, the abatement receipts and every disposal manifest before a Plymouth building comes down. We collect them as the job goes, so the full set is ready when the inspector asks.
MDH’s hiring advice is to compare more than one bid, ask for a written work plan and visit a site run by the company you favor. Ask to see its state license and the certificates of its workers and supervisor.
